For those of you trying to use your LynxTWO or L22 on a GigaByte motherboard, we have beta firmware available that should be a work-around for the ITE Super I/O chip issue.  The firmware is available from here:

L2Update25c

Please note that this updater only has new firmware for the LynxTWO and L22.  We expect to have AES16 firmware out in the near future.  Also note this updater will NOT work for the AES16e PCI Express card.

Please post your results back to this thread on the forum.

Hello David,

Lynx Two-A working fine on Intel DG965SS Win 7 32Bit Nuendo 4 – PT 10 (Asio Lynx / firmware W33).

I upgrade the motherboard to Intel DZ68DB (same configuration) and dropout + freeze appears, not sound.

I tried updating this new firmware but when the process completes appears a legend that says: "Serial Number Readback Not Match!" and not update. Can you help me?

Thanks, Juan.

I was testing a week and definitely does not work. The error before described does not allow update the firmware (in both motherboards)

What is the lastest Intel motherboard with i3 or i5 processor tested for Lynx two?

Thanks, Juan.

Juan,
If neither of your boards allow the update, I can arrange to have your firmware updated here. Just send address, phone number and serial number to support@lynxstudio.com, referencing this thread.

I updated W34 to my LynxTwo-A. After a long working time (2-3 hours), the computer freezes.
I tried restore the W33 but I get a message "Unable to continue", "Firmware is already up to date ".
Please help ...

It is highly unlikely that the LynxTWO-A firmware is to blame for the computer freezing, especially if it worked for 2-3 hours.

There is a way to downgrade the firmware.  Please send an email to support@lynxstudio.com and we can give you instructions.

kepke,
That definitely looks like a problem with communication with the hardware. Sometimes when one of the PCI fingers is blocked or the card is not seated all the way in the slot you can get behavior like this. Try re-seating the card, or putting it into a different PCI slot.

What motherboard is this? You can send an email to support@lynxstudio.com and request our beta LynxTWO firmware. There's a small chance it may help in this case.

I have the exact same problem (L2B, ASUS P8Z68 deluxe mobo). I am not 100% sure if it is the beta firmware that causes Windows to freeze (invariably after some 9 to 14 hours idle time, sometimes also on heavy load), but the problem started just after upgrading the firmware. When running Windows in Safe Mode, the computer is stable.

I have tried both thePCI slots, same results.

I will make double sure the card is fully inserted.

Is it possible to rollback to the previous firmware version?

At least I would like to do this as part of troubleshooting my computer. Or is there some other things to be tried before doing so?

The firmware rollback did the trick, my computer is now stable again.

And as stated in an earlier post, disabling C1E, C3 and C6 reporting in BIOS made 96kHz playback possible again.

I am a happy guy again, thanks for very quick response, Paul!

I am pretty sure it's not a hardware communication problem - I made sure the card is inserted all the way in and all the PCI fingers are clean, moreover, I tried the card on two different boards ( Asus Sabertooth X79 and Asus P8Q77-M) and several slots within these boards with the exact same result. the problem started right after upgrading.
I will try downgrading the Firmware and see if it helps.
