I am looking to add a second Aurora 16 to my current set up of one 16 with the AES16 PCI card.  Can I use the PCI with an additional AES16e pci-e card?  Do they work together?

Hi,

Thank you for using Aurora and thinking about a 2nd one.

Yes you can use the two cards together. Two things to remember:

1. If your card is the master clock, you will need a CBL-ICC cable to internally connect the clock from the master card to the slave card

2. The PCI Express bus is faster, so the two cards will not be sample accurate to each other. It will be slight but you would not want to a) send the same signal to both cards or b) split a stereo pair across the two cards.

Thanks for the reply.  That is good news.  I would be using them to mostly to record and mix with my Neotek board.  Tracking isn't a problem as I generally use less than 16, but for mixing I would use to spread across the 24 channels of the board from Pro Tools 9 and then for printing back the 2 mix and/or stems.

So other than your A/B there isn't anything I should need to change?  There won't be issues when summing back into PT with tracks from both cards?

Thanks again.

You should be good. Just to reiterate, make sure the summed channels into PT are through one card...

I am guessing PC, since you are using a PCI card?

Yes, on a PC.

Thank you.  I just ordered the package and should be looking to install later this week and into the weekend!  Will be back if I have any issues (I also read on how to deal with PT9 seeing the cards as 16 io so I can use both).
