Just put my Lynx Two A in an Asus PK5C Motherboard with and Intel core 2 Extreme 9650 Quad core Processor.  Everything I play is slow, like a 45 record being played at 33 on the turntable (for those who still know what a turntable is) lol.  I'm wondering if it has something to do with my Quad core chip having an unlocked multiplier for overclocking (which I'm not using, the non-overclock speed is 3.0Ghz).  I have the LYNX  mixer Adapter set to internal and I'm using the sample clock.   As far as I can tell I don't have any digital sources selected (i think).  I have not even tried it with my sequencer software yet.  All the music on my PC plays slow including videos, everything.  Can anyone help me here????   Thanks-

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in responding. Some questions: What program are you using to record (or are you just playing back)? What sample rate are you using? What sample rate are the files being played back? Also, what OS in the computer?

Thank you.

I use Steinberg Nuendo and Ableton Live 8 suite but presently I'm just playing back files in Windows (I use Windows 7 Ultimate).  I've tried Lynx sample rates 44.1 KHz & 48 KHz still plays slow. Not sure of the sample rate of the files I"m playing, I would have to say most are MP3s.  So are you saying the "Lynx Two" cannot double as as a Standard Windows sound card and a "Pro digital audio (ASIO) device?  I did not know that, I could be mistaken but it seem when I used my Lynx Two on another PC several years ago it functioned as both.  I will quickly  try it in Ableon Live right now and let you know the results.....

Works Great! - And Wow!!! I had forgotten how good these converters actually sound.  I was using this because my main system was down but now I think I will make this my main system!  Thanks for informing me the Lynx was not working as a standard Windows sound card, I thought something was seriously wrong.

So... is there no way to make the "Lynx Two" play as a standard Windows sound card?  If not I do have a windows sound card that works fine for non professional stuff.   Thanks

Cry Hold on, something is still wrong.  I recorded some things then took the project over to my buddy's  house so he could put his instruments in (same app, Ableton Live) and it played like Alvin & the Chipmunks in hyper speed.  The words were being said so fast one could barely understand what was being said.  Both sequencers were set at 44.1 KHz.  So it still looks like there is a problem.  Back to square one, sorry.  I also, double tested it with and M-Audio Profire 2626 I pulled out of the closet.  The Profire plays all Windows music files fine but plays the Lynx Two recording previously record in Ableton very, very fast.  It would seem the "Lynx Two" card is playing back and recording at slower speeds.  I don't know, possibly a clock issue?

Yes the LynxTWO can absolutely work as a soundcard for you.

Please make sure you do not have RATE LOCK turned on in the Lynx Mixer (in the Adapter screen). You may also want to Restore Defaults in the Lynx Mixer under the "Mixer" tab.

The best first step if the above does not help is to do the Hardware Test here to get everything out of the loop (pun intended) except the card and our LynxDemo program. Please let us know the results.

Mike, I'm attempting to run the test but not getting the options in the instructions such as "Lynx TWO-A Device 1"  the only options I'm getting are:

For Play Device is: "Speakers (LynxTWO-A)."
For Rec Device is:  "Record 01+02 (LynxTWO-A)."

There are several other options in both fields going up to channels 16, but I did not think they were relevant.   I do not get the option "Play 01+02 LynxTWO-A" in the play field but only "Speakers (LynxTWO-A)."

I would like to make sure that this is correct (or not) choices for the  "play and record" devices before I proceed with the test.  Please let me know asap.  Thank you-
