Lynx Aes16e freezes the computer

   Hi,We're experiencing serious problems when testing Lynx AES16e soundcard.
After installing the drivers and restarting the computer, it becomes very slow, in fact totally unusable. The Lynx mixer shows that the sample rate is 100.00 MHz with the internal clock, and changing the sample rate setting doesn't affect the actual rate. Info from the Lynx mixer's about box:

Sometimes the setup works and I've got correct signal out from the Lynx. Most often it just doesn't. When installed the first time, Lynx card didn't show up in Windows device list. After restart it was there but marked with a yellow triangle, and after disabling/enabling it showed up correctly. I have tried 2 different AES16e cards (serial of the other one ending ..309) with similar results.

Where should I start solving the problem?

Some more testing: Normal restart does not affect the problem. After "hard" restart (power button for 10 secs) things are fine for a while (sample rate 44.1), but after a minute or so the sample rate changes back to 100.00 MHz again and computer is stuck. What is going on here?

	What motherboard and processor are you using? What software are you using for playback / recording?

	Hi, we're trying to install the card to a computer with Processor: Pentium Dual-Core E5300 @ 2.60 GHz Motherboard: LENOVO Intel G41 Rev. A3 chipset Bios: LENOVO version 5HKT43AUS We are not able to use any software, as when the computer freezes it gets stuck right after startup (in the login screen). But when it works, we have played back the audio using iTunes.

	DO you have a different audio device (onboard audio for instance) that you can set as the system default in the Sound section of control panel? Its possible that some app or process in your system is changing the sample rate. Otherwise, can you try the card in a different computer? Its not likely that two cards would have the same hardware problem, but it would be useful to rule that out.

	Hello again, did some more testing. We clean installed Windows7 (32bit) to the computer which had problems. After installing Lynx card to the fresh setup the problems begun again: the computer froze totally during the driver installation. We thought that the computer could have a broken PCIe bus or something, and tried installing it to different computer (also Win7 32 bit, similar model as described above). It didn't work either. There were couple of minutes when the sound (system output) worked fine, but then the computer started to become jerky, and after opened the Lynx mixer it froze totally (mouse was stuck and keyboard didn't work). I guess there is no possibility that some other app would mess up the sample rate, as we tried the card on fresh install. Also Echo AF4 sound interface works fine on both of the computers. We are now doing some testing with the cards on a third computer (different model) to see if the problem is about the specific motherboard, but we don't have resources for very intensive testing.

	OK - it does sound like a good possibility that the card has a hardware problem. Especially if you get similar behavior on a third machine. I can issue an RMA to have that repaired. 	As mentioned in the first post, the same problem exists with two separate cards. Too bad luck if both of them have the same hardware problem. We'll do testing to see if they work with third machine - if they work, there must be some kind of compatibility problem.
