That is probably because of the Topology driver (Windows Sound) setting the volume by itself.  You can always disable the topology driver with CleanReg.

Thank you!  That did the trick.  What is the "topology driver" anyway?

hello, I'm on windows xp sp3 SONAR 8.5.3-X1 an aurora 16 AES16e, is there any need to update the driver from 18k to 18n? It looks like there was a build update and a I/O limit function. If I limit my I/O to 16 will I notice better bandwith? meaning lower latencey? thanks arty

Hi,

with the new versions of the driver, I am encountering the following problem : wasapi does not work on foobar (it returns an error message), while it does work on other softwares such as MPC-HC... The previous versions of the driver did work with foobar under wasapi, now I have to go ASIO or Directsound. Is that a known problem ?
No clue on why WASAPI returns an error on foobar ?

Found an answer : seems to be the case not only for foobar but for WASAPI for various players under Windows 7 64 bits. Possible clue is to reduce buffer lenth to 100ms instead of default values (don't know why though)

Next time, please read the posting about Build 18o.  I think that will answer you question.
