Aurora 8 + LTFW card.  Firmware rev. 21, LTFW driver 2.44 upgraded to 2.46 I think.  Windows Vista.

This little issue has been a constant struggle since purchasing the aurora ten months ago.
The aurora shows up everywhere it should: windows audio, cakewalk, etc. but the control panel does the "select midi ports: virtual midi..." and if I click yes, I get a non-functional aurora 16 remote.  If I click cancel, then it says, "unable to locate an aurora!"

DO you have any other MIDI devices installed? Are you attempting to launch the ARC when Cakewalk is open? IS the Aurora SYNC SOURCE set to Internal? Have you tried restoring defaults on the Aurora?

I do have other midi devices (midisport uno and faderport.)
I've reset defaults.
I've opened the ARC with and without Sonar open.  (I don't think it's making a difference)

The problem seems to be that my firewire isn't linking the ARC to the Aurora.
In order for the ARC to communicate with the Aurora, it must be via the midisport usb.
Should I try another Firewire pci card?  I'll try disconnecting other midi too, but eventually I'm going to need those...

(have tried with the built-in jacks, also a cheapo pci card.  Original Lynx cable, only fw device plugged in.)
