This turned out to be a very strange issue that has now been fixed. Please re-download the AuroraUpdate program:

AuroraUpdate for OSX

and it should work OK for you.

Should I be concerned about these (the two 10000uf caps)? They don't appear to be leaking yet but the tops are touching the top cover of the converter.

I should report back that everything's been running fine after the kind people of Lynx helped me out, and I should also report that my Lynx Aurora and MR816 are working very very nicely and I now have a whopping 28 I/O (Not using ADAT on MR816) and I'm using all the analog outs for analog summing (Folcrom) and results have been stellar.  I also have 8 mic pres on the MR816 should I need it.

Well.  Port A on the AES 16e is to Port A on the Aurora 16.  And Port B on the AES 16e is to Port B on the Aurora.  With the 1605 cable, yes.
